BANC Frequency Coordination

In the San Francisco bay area the wireless ISPs banded together to form a group to manage the use of unlicensed spectrum. This group was born out of necessity as everyone was getting knocked off the air by their spectrum neighbors at an alarming rate. The organization referred to locally as BANC has improved the wireless experience for all and is now spreading to other markets.

Crew Software created a web-based application that provides the datastore for all unlicensed links in a geographic area and the tools to help ISPs identify potential gaps in the spectrum where additional links can be placed.
