Coaches
- Coach Resources
Coaches
have access to team rosters and schedules via the web. These are available
as soon as the division coordinator finishes team formation and elects to
expose the data. The schedules and rosters are always up-to-date, since they
are generated dynamically from the database. And since both parents and coaches
have access to this data online, there is less need to make physical copies
of schedules that became obsolete before they got sorted from the copier.
The
online schedules also provide the coach with the name and phone of the opposing
teams coach as well as their team name and colors. Again focusing on keeping
the coach well prepared prior to arriving at the field.- The coach page becomes the hub for the coaching team giving them access to phone and email for all players and parents. Email can be sent to all players or parents at the push of a button.
- Coaches can also display information on all parent home pages for their team, practice information for example. This helps establish a communication channel between coach and parents.
- Player Statistics
The
coach can also view statistics on his players, quarters played, quarters as
keeper, goals scored, etc. This information is collected via the referees
entering the game cards. Coaches can also view past game cards. The goal is
to keep coaches aware of playing time and other player statistics. The coordinator
for the division has access to the same tables. No more do you have to sit
and scratch your head when a parent complains that their child is getting
less playing time than the coach's child. The data is readily at your disposal.- Player Evaluations
Both
head coaches and the assistants are encouraged to evaluate all the players
on their team in three categories, offensive strength, defensive strength
and goal keeper abilities. They have access to the evaluation during the entire
season and can change it at any time. Of course most will wait until the last
minute, some things never change. - Division coordinators can to review team evaluations in the context of all the other teams in the division and apply a skew factor to make the results more normalized. All of this is computer aided, making it easy to pass valuable data from one season to the next.
